‘War 2’: Yash Raj Films Announces Release Date for Hrithik Roshan & Jr NTR’s Action Spectacle

The highly anticipated ‘War 2’, the next chapter in Yash Raj Films' (YRF) Spy Universe, is set to hit theaters worldwide on August 14, 2025. The production house officially confirmed the release date on Sunday by resharing an unofficial promotional asset on its X (formerly Twitter) page.

A Star-Studded Spy Thriller

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, ‘War 2’ brings back Hrithik Roshan as the elite spy Kabir, reprising his role from the blockbuster ‘War’ (2019). This time, he is joined by Jr NTR, marking his grand Bollywood debut, alongside Kiara Advani, adding to the excitement.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) teased the film’s release, stating:

"Must say… you have set it up brilliantly even before we have started our marketing of #War2… there will be mayhem in cinemas on 14 August 2025, worldwide…"

YRF Spy Universe Expands

The YRF Spy Universe kicked off in 2012 with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The franchise expanded with successful sequels like ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017) and ‘Tiger 3’ (2023).

Following the massive success of ‘War’ (2019) featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, the universe further expanded with ‘Pathaan’ (2023) starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
