Ranbir Kapoor Confirms ‘Brahmastra 2’ Pre-Production to Begin After ‘War 2’
Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has officially confirmed that work on ‘Brahmastra 2’ will move into pre-production later this year, once director Ayan Mukerji wraps up his ongoing project, ‘War 2’.
Brahmastra Universe Expands
The first installment, ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’, was released in 2022, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in a grand fantasy epic directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film introduced audiences to the Astraverse, following Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) on a journey to discover the origins of his mysterious powers, alongside his love interest Isha (Alia Bhatt).
What’s Next for the Brahmastra Franchise?
Back in 2023, Ayan Mukerji revealed that the next two parts of the Brahmastra saga are slated for theatrical release in 2026 and 2027. While specific details remain under wraps, fans can expect a deeper dive into the Astraverse, potentially featuring returning stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and special appearances from Shah Rukh Khan and others.

Before shifting focus to ‘Brahmastra 2’, Ayan Mukerji is currently directing ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, set to release on August 14, 2025.
